This memorial website was created to remember our dearest mother, wife, sister, friend & nanna :

Emi Vafo'ou Mario who was born in  Ahau, Rotuma and passed away on May 9, 2005. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Emi Vafo'ou Mario was born to proud parents - Termemea (Deceased) & Seforsa on 28 November, 1948.  She was raised as an island Princess in her early childhood by her mapigas.  She was the eldest of 6 children and was a sister to Maria, Reijeli, Faga, Lorosio (Deceased) & Mere.

Known to all as Emi, she was forthright and warm hearted.  She always cared for the grandchildren's well being as well as the extended family's needs.  She tried her best to help those who asked for her help & guidance.

Emi was a business woman by profession.  She loved life and lived it to the fullest.  Stern to all around her but deep inside she had a heart of gold.  She would go out of her way to help those who turned up at her doorstep and had to sacrifice a lot.

Her heart was finally captured by Samuela Mario who later became her husband.  They had Eleven (11) sons and one (1) daughter.  A devoted mother to her children & always spoke highly of them being God's gifts to her.

Well known to the Rotuman community because of her passion for her homeland and her people.  She wanted the people of Rotuma to live in comfort and to enjoy the luxuries of life like how we did in Fiji.

During her illness, she was so brave and kept it hidden from us so that we would not worry.  She was always the strong one and had a lot of faith.  She found Jesus through the Charismatic life and although she suffered in her final days, she always had a positive mind about her life and got the best out of it.  Her death was painful for us but she left behind a living legacy in the form of her children.  Something of mum will shine out in each of us.  We are also glad in the sense that she had Chist and is in His  good hands.
